 This
residential guitar weekend is for all guitar players interested in learning or
improving in Gypsy Jazz/Swing style. Over the weekend you will learn about the
rhythm style of Gypsy Swing as well as how to improvise using set piece’s and
Gypsy Jazz standards. Suitable for
both acoustic and electric players. The retreat offers a chance
for both novice and experienced players to learn and interact with each other
over the course of the weekend in relaxed comfortable surroundings, allowing
you to fully immerse yourself in Gypsy Jazz!
Sam is keen to emphasise that even if
you come from a different musical genre it is possible to bring your own
experience to the style of Gypsy Jazz.
Samuel C. Lees has emerged as one of the UK’s most exciting and
entertaining Gypsy guitar players. Samuel’s fusing of both the smooth melodic
style of Django Reinhardt and the fire and flair of modern
gypsy guitar players such as Jimmy Rosenberg and Joscho
Stephen surpasses convention and crosses boundaries.
A full time performer and composer
who also loves to teach others the joys of guitar playing and share his passion
for the Gypsy Jazz style.

recently performed with his quartet at the International Gypsy Jazz Festival..
