Musicians
Boulou
& Elios Ferre' now have a website at long last. They are
now also endorsing JWC Guitars in Europe with some interesting photos on the JWC
website. I have always admired the playing of these guys, who are such an
intrinsic, but highly individual, part of the Django legacy. Both are Gypsy
aristocrats with such a deep understanding of the music. Their work embraces so
many areas musically and is orchestral and profound. Who else had uncles
called Baro and Sarane and a father named Matelo of whom both Coltrane and The
Duke admired their playing. Praise indeed! - Paul Vernon Chester

Matcho Winterstein
was playing concerts at the age
of 12. His music is authentic, generous and engaging with incredible power,
swing and velocity. Matcho has now become a magnificent representative of the
Jazz Manouche players of Eastern France and is often seen teamed up with
Moreno.

Yorgui
Loeffler is considered as one of the most
talented gypsy guitarist in Alsace. Hardworking, he built himself a real musical
personality based on Django Reinhardt´s heritage and completed with diverse
influences. His style is not only a masterly imitation of the most famous
musicians as Tchavolo Schmitt, Bireli Lagrene or Stochelo Rosenberg, because
Yorgui Loeffler has developed his own specific phrasé: precise and fast it has
become a real "brand". He began playing classic guitar at the age of 14,
and he discovered the music of Django while accompanying his brother Gigi who
overtook him on this soloist role. He improved himself then autodidactic as most
of gypsy musicians do, and he formed his trio in 1998 (with his brother Gigi at
the rhythm guitar and his cousin Gino Roman at the electric bass). His band,
which soon became a quartet with the pianist Vincent Bidal, had at first a lot
of success at the International Tsigane Festival of Strasbourg in 1999. His
first CD "For Magnio" was released under the Label "Brisez la Glace" in 2002.
